A recent increase in suspected “directed” radio frequency attacks on U.S. diplomats has the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee growing concerned.
In a bi-partisan statement on Friday, Senators Mark Warner, the committee’s Democratic chairman, and Marco Rubio, its Republican vice chairman, said they have been aware for nearly five years of mysterious attacks on U.S. government personnel in Havana, Cuba and elsewhere around the world.
“This pattern of attacking our fellow citizens serving our government appears to be increasing. The Senate Intelligence Committee intends to get to the bottom of this,” they said.
Most concerning is news that Federal agencies are allegedly investigating two possible incidents that fit the characteristics of “Havana syndrome” on U.S. soil.Â

CNN on Thursday reported that U.S. agencies were investigating two possible incidents in the U.S., including one that may have occurred near the South Lawn of the White House.
In 2016, U.S. diplomats in Cuba complained of severe headaches, hearing strange sounds and experiencing physical sensations that resulted in poor hearing and vision. It is believed that they suffered from directed radio frequency attacks. As a result, in 2018, most all diplomatic personnel were pulled out of Cuba.
