The left has relentlessly pushed for more gun control over the years, with many even calling for a total removal of the Second Amendment, but the latest polling shows Americans aren’t interested in that line of thinking.
A survey of likely voters by Rasmussen found that the majority of Americans still believe in the Second Amendment. They also don’t anticipate Congress passing any major gun control legislation anytime soon.

“A majority of voters believe the Second Amendment still protects Americans against tyranny and don’t expect Congress to answer President Joe Biden’s demand for new gun control laws,” Rasmussen said. “A new national telephone and online survey by Rasmussen Reports finds that only 34% of Likely U.S. Voters believe it is likely Congress will approve new gun control laws, including 11% who think it is Very Likely. Fifty-seven percent (57%) don’t believe it is likely Congress will pass new gun control legislation, including 21% who say it is Not At All Likely.”
President Joe Biden rolled out gun regulations earlier this year. His plan includes going after gun traffickers and stopping 3D-printed “ghost guns.”
“Gun violence takes lives and leaves a lasting legacy of trauma in communities every single day in this country, even when it is not on the nightly news,” the White House said when rolling out the plan. “In fact, cities across the country are in the midst of a historic spike in homicides, violence that disproportionately impacts Black and brown Americans. The President is committed to taking action to reduce all forms of gun violence – community violence, mass shootings, domestic violence, and suicide by firearm.”

Biden has also called for controversial “red flag” laws to be passed. Many conservatives have argued these laws could be abused and misused to take guns from law-abiding Americans.
Regardless, the latest polling shows that when it comes to guns, Biden is all bark and no bite.
