“Our differences are exactly why I joined Biden’s Climate Unity Task Force,” said Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in response to a tweet from former White House counselor, Kellyanne Conway.
During the first Presidential debate between Democrat Joe Biden and President Trump on Tuesday, the former Vice President walked back his support for Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s “Green New Deal.”
“No, I don’t support the Green New Deal,” insisted Biden. “I support the Biden plan I put forward, which is different than what [Trump] calls the Green New Deal.”
When Conway tweeted out Biden’s statement, Ocaso-Cortez immediately responded saying that she wants to work with Joe Biden and set aside “our differences and figure out an aggressive climate plan to address the planetary crisis at our feet.” “Trump doesn’t even believe climate change is real,” continued Ocasio-Cortez.
