Futures Point Higher On Wall Street As Investors Cheer Another Vaccine & Prepare for Earnings

The futures markets point to a higher open on Wall Street this morning, after a long holiday weekend.

Cheering investors on is the approval of AstraZeneca’s Covid-19 vaccine for emergency use. It is expected to help poor countries gain wider access to the vaccine. The vaccine, developed in conjunction with Oxford, has been approved for use in the UK since December 30, however it is not yet approved in the United States.

Investors are also watching the earnings picture with numerous companies set to report. CVS Health, Devon Energy, Occidental Petroleum, Palantir Technologies, and Vornado Realty Trust all report today.
