CNN has been in the center of scandal this week after the network ousted their primetime host, Chris Cuomo over his alleged involvement in covering up his brothers sexual harassment allegations.
Now, Cuomo has responded to his indefinite suspension on his SiriusXM program.
“Hey everybody, it’s Chris Cuomo, let’s get after it, quick note, the obvious, I’ve been suspended from CNN,” Cuomo said, Fox News reported. “You know this already. It hurts to even say it, it’s embarrassing, but I understand it and I understand why some people feel the way they do about what I did,” Cuomo said. “I’ve apologized in the past and I mean it, it’s the last thing I ever wanted to do was compromise any of my colleagues and do anything but help.”
Cuomo was suspended after news broke that he allegedly tried to dig up dirt on women who were accusing his brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, of sexual misconduct.
It remains unclear whether Cuomo will return to the network.
This isn’t the only scandal for the network this year. They landed in hot water with podcast superstar Joe Rogan for their coverage of his COVID-19 case.
He repeatedly blasted the network for reporting that he was taking horse de-wormer to treat COVID and pressed CNN’s TV doctor Sanjay Gupta about the issue on his podcast.
“It’s a lie…and it’s a lie that they’re conscious of,” Rogan said. “It’s not a mistake. They’re unfavorably framing it as veterinary medicine.”
As the conversation continued, Rogan kept up the pressure on Gupta.
“Why would they lie and say that’s horse dewormer? I can afford people medicine…It’s ridiculous! It’s just a lie! Don’t you think that a lie like that is dangerous on a news network when you know that they know they’re lying?”
