Governor Newson seems to be embarking on a PR effort to prevent his recall as governor. Â On Saturday, the state passed a new $96.6 billion stimulus bill to provide and extra $600 for low-income residents. This would be on the heels of the first and second stimulus checks provided by the federal government, as well as a possible third check for $1400 from Uncle Sam.
California’s bill would also increase aid to small businesses, as well as add resources for child-care services and emergency financial aid for community college students.
CA governor Newsom adds that, “As we continue to fight the pandemic and recover, I’m grateful for the Legislature’s partnership to provide urgent relief and support for California families and small businesses where it’s needed most.”
Critics see this as an attempt to appease the masses in an effort to prevent a recall of Gov. Gavin Newsom in California.
